The mission of the Communications Team is to support chapter members by providing engaging forums to share best practices, ask questions and receive valuable information on trends & news. This is accomplished through the chapter web site, newsletter, social media and local publications.

The Communications Team assists in creating the content for our bi-monthly newsletter, Capital News. This is a publication of the Capital Chapter and one of the main conduits to informing our membership about current trends in the industry as well as what's happening within the Chapter. Each publishing cycle requires the team to research current trends and call upon our membership for articles to share their knowledge. We also interview CFM’s and FMP's to get their view on why they decided to get certified, and how it has changed their professional career. Highlighting the accomplishments of chapter volunteers provides accolades for their work & illustrates to new members ways they can engage the chapter.

In addition to the newsletter, the Communications Team is responsible for photographing each event. This ensures the Chapter has an active catalog of photographs of itsmembers and events, as well as allowing the Chapter to document its activity on the website and other media. The Communications team also works to foster media relations to share CCIFMA news with the metro DC area.
