Membership Services Team
The mission of the Membership Services Team is to grow and retain Chapter membership through active member recruitment and participation in programs. The Capital Chapter of IFMA is currently made up of approximately 75% Professional Members and 25% Associate Members. The Membership Team's objective is to maintain this ratio for the benefit of all of our members. Our goal of continuing to grow the chapter membership is aimed at strengthening the organization and enriching the profession and careers of FM professionals.

Member Recruitment
- Role: To plan and implement ways to grow the chapter's membership.
- Benefit to Team Member: The opportunity to network with both Professional and Associate Members
- Champion: Wendy Shapiro
Member Retention
- Role: To increase the number of member renewals.
- Benefit to Team Member: The opportunity to speak to about 10 Professional and/or Associate Members per month.
- Champion: Erin Figueroa and Rebecca Reeder
Orientation and Trade Show Liason
- Role: To plan and execute the bi-monthly orientation as well as ensure there are enough volunteers to staff the trade show booth.
- Benefit to Team Member: The opportunity to meet people who have recently joined the Chapter as well as those considering joining. Expand your network.
- Champion: Susie Summers and Michael Dickerson
IFMA Buddies
- Role: To introduce new members to the Chapter, find thier areas of interest and help them get the most out of thier memberships.
- Benefit to Team Member: The opportunity to meet people who have recently joined the Chapter as well as those considering joining. Expand your professional network.
- Champion: Sarah Gabriel and Gerald Fitzpatrick
- Role: To work with the Communications Team to be sure Membership Services Information is kep up to date on the website..
- Benefit to Team Member: Get a more detailed understanding of how the Chapter works.
- Champion: Colette Releford
Additional Information:
The Member Services Team meets monthly. Meetings are held from 10:00am - 11:00am on the fourth Thursday of every month. Meetings are held at various member locations. On alternate months the meeting is held by conference call. If you would like an invitation to an upcoming meeting, please contact membership@ifmacap.org.
Being a member of the Membership Services Team can be beneficial to you whether you are a Professional member or an Associate member!
Professional members can participate in increasing and retaining the large number of Professional members in the chapter, thus increasing the pool of knowledge. They can encourage colleagues to take a more active role in the advancement of the profession thereby enhancing their own career.
Associate members benefit by building their network that can help both personally and professionally.
