IFMA would like to remind you that through these uncertain and sometimes trying financial times, your association is poised to help you manage through any challenge, providing you with resources, contacts, discounts and opportunities to help you keep yourself and your facility competitive.
Many of you are making some hard financial decisions, both in your personal lives and in the workplace. In assessing your priorities, you may be weighing the necessity of your IFMA membership. Perhaps you feel that your employer has already made the decision for you by no longer subsidizing your association membership or funding your professional development.
Business advisors counsel that an economic downturn is, in fact, the best time to invest in the future of your company and career. When the recovery comes, those who continued learning, networking and innovating will be better positioned than their competitors.
IFMA wants to help educate companies about the value of supporting their facility team’s association membership and professional development. Please click here to download a letter from IFMA to your employer, making the case for their continued financial support.
If your organization is still unconvinced, then we encourage you to consider the value of personally maintaining your IFMA connection. Membership in IFMA is an investment in your career. Individuals who neglect to stay up-to-date on changes and advancements in their industry fall behind; however, those who stay current or go above and beyond current expectations provide more value to their employer, contributing to the long-term success of the company.
Those of you who are already paying your own dues know that IFMA membership saves you money in the long run. IFMA members enjoy a substantial package of benefits. Purchasing any of these services as a nonmember might be cost prohibitive for some companies; but as an IFMA member, you have access to them free of charge or at a substantially reduced rate.
Plus—just one cost-cutting idea from a fellow IFMA chapter or council member can save you or your organization many years worth of membership dues.
The facility management profession is unique, and no one understands it better than IFMA. Through our commitment to identify and meet specific member needs, we will continue to provide you with a valuable portfolio of programs, opportunities and benefits to get you through this challenging time. You are part of a strong, supportive community, and we are here to assist you.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding your membership, please contact IFMA member resources at +1-713-623-4362 or membership@ifma.org. We thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
David J. Brady
