Programs Committee

The mission of the Programs Committee is to provide FM educational and networking opportunities for Chapter members. Valuable educational events for Professional members are at the heart of our programs and will be provided a minimum of eight times a year.

The Programs Committee is divided into three subcommitttees:

Monthly Programs

The monthly programs sub-committee develops, coordinates and implements the monthly programs for the chapter. Program topics are based on IFMA's 2007 trends report.  Starting in the summer, a call for presentations is sent to the chapter members.  The applications are reviewed and selected by the programs committee. The committee then assembles a schedule of topics for approval by the board. Throughout the program year the committee works the speakers and membership to schedule locations, audio-visual needs and catering for each monthly event.  The monthly program sub-committee strives to provide programs that meet IACET requirements so we can offer CEU credits to all our attendees.

Emerging Leaders

The Emerging Leaders sub-committee develops, coordinates and implements the bi-monthly networking happy hours and programs for the young professionals 35ish and under in the chapter. Program topics are selected based on specific needs and necessary skills that future facility managers need.   The mission of the Emerging Leaders is to promote a vibrant and active network of the future leaders of facilities management.

Roundtables

The roundtables sub-committee coordinates and oversees the roundtables within the chapter.  The primary goal of this sub-committee is to provide a mechanism for chapter members to learn from each other's experiences about specific topics and industries such as:

  • sustainability
  • public sector
  • non-profit

The development of the programs calendar is the most labor intensive portion of the year for this committee. It is also the most fun! Working with the input from the chapter and the board, program ideas are developed into one of the most visible products that the chapter provides to its members.
